Wiki › Item Workbench

Item Workbench

Break gear down into minerals, then forge those minerals into perks you attach to your equipment. Every attach rolls a random level 1–5 — level 5 is the rarest and strongest — and pouring in extra materials swings the odds in your favour.

1 · Break items

Feed unwanted gear into the bench to shatter it into minerals and enhancers. Higher-tier items give more, and rarer, materials.

2 · Gather materials

Six material types, from the common Dull Mineral up to the Innovative Enhancer. What drops depends on the tier of item you break.

3 · Attach a perk

Spend materials to roll a perk onto a gear slot. Pay above the minimum to boost your shot at a higher level.

Materials & where they come from

MaterialRarityHow to get it
Dull MineralCommonEvery item you break, any tier — your bulk currency.
Old EnhancerCommonEvery item you break, any tier.
Shiny MineralUncommonBreak tier 2+ items (near-guaranteed from tier 3+).
Modern EnhancerUncommonBreak tier 3+ items.
Glistening MineralRareBreak tier 4+ items (common from tier 6).
Innovative EnhancerVery rareBreak tier 5–6 items only — the endgame material.

What to break — 937 breakable items

Higher tier means more materials per break and better odds at the rare ones. Amounts scale further with your donator rank (+2% to +20%) and Combat Achievement tier (Elite +3% · Master +5% · Grandmaster +10%).

All perks — 19

Each perk fits specific gear slots and rolls level 1–5 on attach. “L5 base” is the chance of hitting level 5 before you boost it with extra materials (up to ~3×) and donator bonuses.

Attaching, levels & boosting your roll

Levels 1–5

Every attach rolls a random level; 5 is rarest and strongest. If you already have the perk, a lower roll keeps your current level — you never downgrade.

Pay to boost

The listed cost is the minimum. Feed in more minerals than the minimum and your odds of a higher level climb — up to about the base chance.

Bonuses

Donator ranks add up to +10% to your roll (Supreme). A Mineral Bag lets the bench pull materials straight from the bag.

Slots & stacking

A perk only attaches to its slot. Different perks stack across different items, so you can kit out a whole setup — and remove any perk at the bench anytime.

Wiki › Upgrade Station

Upgrade Station

Fuse high-tier gear into Recoil’s strongest imbued items. Each recipe takes a set of ingredient items plus a binding item, and rolls against a base success rate. Win and you get the upgrade; lose and you forfeit only the binding item.

Bring the recipe

Every upgrade needs its ingredients (the items being fused) plus one binding item — often a regional Echo Orb. The station shows the exact items and your live success chance.

Roll to succeed

A d100 is rolled against your success rate. On failure you lose only the binding item — your ingredients are safe. On success the ingredients + binding are consumed and you receive the upgrade.

Perks carry over

Any Workbench perks on your ingredient items transfer onto the finished upgrade (up to its perk-slot limit), so you never lose your rolls by upgrading.

Boosting your odds

Pity system — recipes bound with an Echo Orb (tagged pity) gain success chance every time you fail, up to +20%, resetting when you finally succeed. Donator bonus — every upgrade also gets a flat boost: Donator +1%, Super +2%, Elite +3%, Noble +4%, Gold +5%, Platinum +7%, Legendary +9%, Supreme +11%.

Wiki › FAQ

Frequently Asked

The quick answers new players ask most.

How do I create an account?
There's no separate sign-up. Type any username and password on the login screen and your account is created on first login. Your name is locked from that point.
Can I change my game mode later?
No — your mode is chosen during the tutorial and is permanent. Hardcore accounts drop a tier on an unsafe death, but you can't switch between Standard and Ironman.
Is Recoil pay-to-win?
No. Donator perks and store items are cosmetic or quality-of-life only — the power comes from playing.
How do I change my display name?
Use a Name Change Scroll — read it, confirm, and enter your new name (1–12 characters). Your account is renamed and you log back in under it.
Where do I get help?
Type ::help in-game to reach staff, or join the Discord to ask the community.
